On the road with British Beat 66, An insightful look on trips to Mohawk
British Beat 66 recent trip to Mohawk Casino was as interesting as previous trips. For the first time we stayed in Cambridge and drove the twenty minutes to our gig. To our surprise the sign at the entrance said this week “The Beach Dude’s” and next week “British Beat 66”. The marketing manager apologized for the incorrect sign saying the web-site is correct. Later that evening a customer said to us “Nice music Beach Dudes” and we explained who we were however she then called us “The British Dudes”. After our gig we made our way back to the hotel and watched the Spice Girls movie as we wound down. Saturday morning we had a great Breakfast at Angel’s diner in Cambridge, visited The British Bakery and then went to St. Jacobs for the afternoon. We all liked this cool store called “Taste the 4th Sense” which featured every known hot sauce you can imagine. Saturday night there was a great crowd and we met some new friends and we’re pleasantly surprised to see some friends who made the trek from Windsor to enjoy the Casino & the British Beat 66 show. Now those are true fans. Cheers Ms. Tillie Frumbosky (BB66 Public Relations Director).
British Beat 66 had a great return trip to Mohawk Raceway where they performed for two nights at Oscar's Lounge. The band was pleased our friend Jim and his lovely wife made the trip from Cambridge while Sandro, Bones, M and A came from Windsor and many friends stopped in for a visit. The boys did a little sight seeing on Saturday taking in the White Rock Ostrich Farm having a most memorable and enjoyable visit. Barbequed ostrich burgers done to perfection. The performance was fun and Jeremy woo’d the crowd with his romantic version of “Words” by the Bee Gee’s. All in all a fun trip, and the boys are now safely back in Windsor Ontario....Cheers! British Beat 66 had a great trip to Mohawk Raceway where they performed for two nights at Oscar's Lounge. The Friday night performance featured a memorable moment when Lawrence's rousing rendition of "Honey Don't" had them dancing in the aisles. After the show the boys bunked right next door at the historic Mohawk Inn where after a long drive and Friday’s performance the boys spent the remainder of the evening pondering the artwork in the smoking room and relaxing until everyone fell asleep. Saturday’s performance featured a few new tunes for the band including "Jumpin Jack Flash" and a chance for the boys to work some jazz hands into their choreography. It appears the dance lessons are paying off. The band was thrilled to see fans from Windsor Ontario who also made the trip. A special shout out to Drew & Darlene and Darlene's mom "Super Pat" who is a new fan. A special treat for our own Jeremy English was a mini family reunion. Jeremy's Aunts, Uncles, Cousins all enjoyed the show and made it a fun evening. The boys did a little sight seeing on Saturday taking in a very unique ice sculpture and the local cuisine. All in all a fun trip and the boys are now safely back in Windsor Ontario....Cheers Ms Tillie Frumbosky (BB66 Public Relations Director)
